Website Update

Our goal was to have a beautiful new website up and running by the end of June...make that July, but it's taking us longer than we anticipated. Our wonderful programmer has had COVID twice, and it's a slow recovery process. I'm sure she'd appreciate your prayers for her recovery, as well as for her family members who have also contracted the virus.Back in 2009, when we bought the bookstore end of Lampstand Press, we signed a legal agreement with them to be their sister company and provide the books they recommend. It is still our aim to do so and carry this out in the best way possible in order to enable you to most easily find what you need. We know you are caught in the in-between, but we thank you so much for your patience as we finish up this project!

Shipping Information

I know that to many of you, it seems like we have moved back in time in terms of how long it takes packages to get to you. However, please continue to expect shipping delays from any company you order from, using any method of shipping. We've talked with USPS and UPS to get more details. Here's what we've found, although the simple answer is COVID.

  • Hubs across the nation vary in the number of employees they can work on a given shift, and this will also vary if their area is currently on red or yellow alert. In other words, the number of workers they have could vary quite a bit every couple of weeks.

  • Largely, they process the faster shipping shipping options first. So, if you choose USPS Priority Mail, UPS 2-day, or 3-day, it will head out on the truck before those that choose UPS Ground, or USPS Media Mail.

Thus, you might get your packages quickly, but you might not. If your package heads into a red zone area, chances are that it will get to you slower than you'd like. So, what's our suggestion to you?

  • Order way before you need your products. (I'm going to start ordering Christmas gifts now, so as to avoid this in a few months!)

  • If you can afford it, choose UPS options before you choose the USPS ones, as generally they are faster regardless.

  • If you are choosing USPS, choose priority mail.

We've talked many times about the fact that the majority of the titles that we carry fall into the "living books." If you follow the Charlotte Mason method at all, you'll know that they recommend narration as a way to review learning. Check out our Facebook post on July 27 to find a free pdf download of some narration prompts that you might find helpful.
